Roz has over 20 years’ experience in strategic and operational leadership roles within criminal justice settings, championing diversity, safeguarding, equality of opportunities and the women’s offenders’ agenda, reducing barriers to service access. Track record of success within complex organisations leading transformational change and multi-faceted project management, involving stakeholders from Public, Private and third sector voluntary organisations, working in partnership with the police, housing, social care, voluntary and multi-agency partners to commission new and enhanced services. A results-oriented leader delivering improved performance at pace, while proactively creating opportunities for the team to grow. Always visible, approachable and in touch with the front-line enabling better solutions and outcomes.
Passionate about the need for both evidence-based practice and practice-based evidence, Roz joined De Montfort University in September 2016, one of the leading academic institutes in the UK for the delivery of probation education, as a Senior Lecturer and subsequently took on the role of Programme leader. Principal responsibility is leading and coordinating the operational delivery of the academic element of the Professional Qualification in Probation (PQiP).
A Director at the Probation Institute, a member the International Network for Criminal Justice (IN-CJ) and a Trustee for Hibiscus Initiatives – a charity that works with migrant women affected by the criminal justice and immigration system – Roz remains as committed to the probation principles that marked and shaped her early career.
