Julia qualified as a probation officer in 1987 and had a varied career as a practitioner before specialising in learning and development. A senior manager with the North West Training Consortium for 12 years, she then established LAURUS Development, a staff mutual enterprise where she is both co-Director and Chief Operating Officer.

Julia takes a strategic approach to learning and assessment. She attained Chartered Manager status for her acclaimed review of vocational assessment and has recently led the design of a modern and innovative national qualification in Community Rehabilitation.

A powerful networker and communicator, Julia considers it imperative to challenge the status quo to spark innovation and improvement.
