The Probation Institute is working with others to seek to influence the future National Probation Service. We are particularly concerned to:

  • Encourage and promote practice based research and evidence.

  • Encourage and support localism and local accountability.

  • Maintain a degree level entry qualification taught through universities with strong backgrounds in probation, rehabilitation and resettlement.

  • Promote effective relationships between probation and the voluntary and community sector.

We will be seeking to influence through a number of channels in the next two months.
