Probation Reform
The Probation Institute is working with others to seek to influence the future National Probation Service. We are particularly concerned to:
Encourage and promote practice based research and evidence.
Encourage and support localism and local accountability.
Maintain a degree level entry qualification taught through universities with strong backgrounds in probation, rehabilitation and resettlement.
Promote effective relationships between probation and the voluntary and community sector.
We will be seeking to influence through a number of channels in the next two months.
