Probation Day 2024

As it is "Probation Day" it seems right to post a line or two from Lord Timpson's reply to the Probation Institute on 14th August.

"The Probation Service has a crucial – and often overlooked – role in protecting the public, and in turning offenders’ lives around, providing a path of reintegration into the community to ultimately break the cycle of reoffending. We recognise that the service has been put under enormous strain in recent years and the impact of it is still felt today. Looking ahead, we know that there is much work to do to put the service on a sustainable footing.”
