Following the two recent reports on resettlement of prisoners HMI Prisons (March 2023) and Public Accounts Committee (May 2023), Charlie Taylor Chief Inspector of Prisons has published a blog in which he describes OMIC as a "laudable idea" that has to date been a "huge failure" particularly attributing this to the staffing crisis and continuing pressure on the prison population. Three interesting examples of positive practice are included in the blog.
