The Apprenticeship Funding Levy on all employers with a pay-bill over £3 million will be implemented in April 2017. Sectors which have in place Trailblazer Apprenticeships will be able to recoup the levy, and set agreed sector wide professional standards for training and competence. The Probation Institute is leading a proposal to develop a Trailblazer Apprenticeship, attracting funding for the Probation Service Officer or equivalent role, which can be used by all employers in Probation, Rehabilitation and Resettlement. Working with Skills for Justice and Seetec/Kent Surrey Sussex CRC the Probation Institute has circulated a proposal to a group of nine employers to develop an Expression of Interest to become an employer group to develop a Trailblazer Apprenticeship by Spring 2017. We are keen to invite and include more employers in the public, private and voluntary organisations. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org for a copy of the proposal or to discuss this project.
