Professor Mike Nash FPInst

Mike Nash is Emeritus Professor of Criminology at the University of Portsmouth. A former senior probation officer who worked in prisons and the community, he moved on to become head of the Institute of Criminal Justice Studies at Portsmouth University.
He has researched and published widely on public protection with a particular focus on probation and police cultures. As head of department and Director of Community Justice at Portsmouth, he oversaw the delivery of substantial probation training programmes across England and Wales. Publications include The Anatomy of Serious Further Offending (Oxford University Press, 2008) and the Handbook of Public Protection (Willan, 2010) both with Andy Williams.
