- We are here to help practitioners progress in their careers through our Professional Development Framework. The framework also helps employers ensure employees have the right skills and trainers to plan courses that are relevant and effective.
- Joining as a practitioner, you are entitled to use the letters ‘MPInst’ after your name and be part of our Registered Practitioners Directory.

- We also welcome, and have plenty to offer, peer mentors, volunteers, researchers, academics, students, associates and retired probation officers.
- Through our professional networks, members get together to develop best practice in the areas they care about.
You endorse our Code of Ethics and are working as a volunteer or peer mentor in the field of community justice.
You have made an outstanding contribution to probation or community justice and are a recognised expert in your field. Fellows of the Probation Institute are entitled to use the letters “FPInst” after their name. If you are interested in applying to become a Fellow of the Institute, you will need to complete an application form. Applications will be considered by the Institute’s Membership Committee.
