Sharing many of the same values and objectives, the Probation Institute and Magistrates’ Association are working together to promote the learning and development of justice professionals. To help support this we are establishing a Probation and Judicial Matters Network, to provide a platform for those who deliver probation services, magistrates and others with an interest, to come together, both online and at seminars, workshops or other appropriate events. The objectives of the network are to promote research, the sharing of information and to facilitate relevant training and learning within probation, rehabilitation and the magistracy. We plan for the first such seminar to be held towards the end of the coming September.
The network will have an online discussion forum to facilitate communication among the network members and an online library to host documents of general interest to network members. The network will operate under Chatham House rules. The work of the network will be encouraged and supported by a moderator, and we are pleased to say that Richard Monkhouse, Chairman of the Magistrates’ Association 2013-2015, has agreed to take on this role.
We do hope very much that you will support this initiative by joining and contributing your own knowledge and experience. To find out more or to join please contact Anissa Kahouadji or Savas Hadjipavlou.
