Andy Keen-Downs has been Chief Executive of Pact (Prison Advice & Care Trust) since 2005, and CEO of Pact Futures since 2016. Andy has worked in the voluntary sector for much of his working life, and was previously Deputy Director at Gingerbread (One Parent Families). He held posts with Centrepoint, the youth homelessness charity, with the National Childbirth Trust, and worked for Gatehouse, a community literacy project in the Hulme & Moss side area of Manchester. Andy’s first job was with Reuters in Fleet Street. He qualified as a secondary school teacher. Andy has been at the forefront of developments in through the gate mentoring work with Probation colleagues, and prison-based family casework & interventions. More recently, Andy has acted as a pro-bono advisor to Lord Michael Farmer and to the Catholic Church. He cites his personal and family experiences of contact with the justice system as his most useful qualification.
